“We believe that companies have a responsibility to make the world a better place,” said Sunski co-founder and CEO, Tom Stewart. “Since the beginning, Sunski has donated 1 percent of all sales to environmental non-profits fighting the effects of climate change. Now, after years of behind-the-scenes materials innovation, we are introducing our first ever collection of frames made of entirely recycled plastic. It is the first of many sustainability initiatives over the next three years that will transform the way we make our products.”
Sunski was just recently awarded the Business Of The Year Award by the Save The Waves Coalition. Sunski was recognized for not only its generous charitable efforts towards 1% For The Planet – an organization Sunski has supported since day one – but also for the company’s work in developing the Recycled Plastics collection.
The new collection is made of strong, durable yet flexible recycled plastic material molded into frames that have been designed and thoroughly tested. Sunski’s new recycled plastics collection launches with these models:
Portolas – $68
A universal winner for the modern aesthete. Designed to be your everyday, go-to pair of shades, the Portolas are infused with a splash of sophistication to ensure they stand out to the discerning eye. They feature a high nose bridge, accentuated keyhole and thin, low-profile arms. Available in Black Rose and Tortoise Aqua.
Manresas – $68
Risky Business modernized. The bold, thicker silhouette relies on clean, intentional lines that make a downtown statement without sacrificing performance. The Manresa’s unique proportions turn this classic shape into a Sunski original. $68.00
Available in Black Tortoise Aqua and Black Tortoise Slate
Chalets – $68
Retro-inspired 70s style ski aviators for sea level urban adventures. The Chalet’s silhouette evokes movement and exploration with a nostalgic flair. The contemporary take on an aviator shape dictates the proportions of these iconic frames.
Available in Grey Sky and Tortoise Forest.
Sunski’s recycled plastics collection is available at Sunski.com and in select retailers.
