The catwalks and streets of New York is buzzing with the sounds of New York Fashion Week but get ready for a New York Asian Fashion Week Extravaganza. The event is organized by fashionista Gwen Vikkey Miao Vicki Victoire of La Mode by GV Miao whose passion for fashion is undeniable. I’ve known and communicated with Vicki for many years now in the fashion and blogging medium and I’m very excited to see her fashion dreams take flight in NYC, a city where fashion dreams do come true. The evening’s fashion extravaganza is also for a good cause and supports the ‘Save A Child’s Heart‘ foundation.

She says, “The idea of throwing a catwalk show for Asian/Hong Kong designers in New York, the well-known fashion capital of the US came from my blogging mission that I set myself when I first blogged 4 years ago. Considering that their lack of financial resources is always a major obstacle for many young emerging Asian/Hong Kong designers to moving their career goals one step forward, I, being a Hong Kong-based fashion blogger bearing a primary mission to bring any potential Asian/Hong Kong designers to the world’s attention, feel an urge to “do something” to make the name of our future design stars from Asia/Hong Kong known, and their works seen as their talents deserve to be valued despite deficiency of both financial back-up and manpower from my end. I am not afraid to dream big. I earnestly hope that the local media/press in the US, both online and offline which embrace passion and celebrate the spirit of creativity such as yourself will join me in this unprecedented and groundbreaking project to support young creative talents for the good of the future fashion industry.”
