New York Fashion Week: Philippa Galasso F/W14 Collection

P1

Philippa Galasso is the fresh, young talent behind the eponymous Philippa Galasso eveningwear label. Her collections, which originated in Sydney, Australia, have gained a global reputation for their mystical shades, cutting-edge shapes, striking lines and delicate fabrics. The designer’s quintessentially feminine silhouettes have been especially well received in France, where she showcased her collection at the ‘Festival de Cannes’ in 2012 and appeared in Elle Magazine Paris. Philippa, whose credentials include an Australian Wool Award and a diploma from Sydney’s prestigious Ultimo TAFe College, debuted her Summer 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week in last September 2013.

This season, Philippa Galasso returns to the fashion scene at Fashion Palette with her latest collection for Fall/Winter 2014. There are beaded and sheer accented with sequins gowns ready for any fashionista to hit the red carpet or premiere event. Gowns are long, fitted or flared and there are ombre feathers on some, and cocktail dresses that are short and also done with feathers that are simply divine.  The colors are strikingly mysterious yet sophisticated too, such as navy, emerald green and oxblood red. Although there are lots of sheers, feathers and sequins, there are also leather too which make the entire collection seem very modern yet sophisticated. We love how Phillippa creates lots of texture with her collection by using a combination of beading, feathers with the patterns for some of these creations that almost seem like faberge egg designs. Check out the entire collection and let us know which look/s are your favorite/s.
