  • The Winning Looks of Christian Siriano & His Growing Fashion Empire

By tfnow on August 18, 2013
    ChristianSiriano

As we get ready for the upcoming S/S14 collections at New York Fashion Week, True Fashionista Now takes a look at designer Christian Siriano.

    BIO Peek:
Christian Siriano attended the Baltimore School for the Arts and further studied fashion in London, where he interned with industry legends Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. The Christian Siriano collection debuted in 2008, and is now shown each season at New York Fashion Week and presented in New York and Paris to retailers. Known for whimsical and show-stopping design – from fantasy evening gowns and cocktail dresses, to tailored sportswear, to intricate shoes and accessories – the collection can be found at department stores and specialty boutiques around the globe. In 2012 the first stand-alone flagship Christian Siriano store opened on Elizabeth Street in New York City, and in 2013 he was inducted as a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Who Loves & Wears His Designs:
Oprah Winfrey calls his designs “works of art” and Tim Gunn calls him “a prodigy” and “the next great American fashion designer.” His designs have appeared in fashion magazines around the world and on leading ladies in every field of entertainment, from stars of film (Sarah Jessica Parker, Elizabeth Olsen, Emily Blunt, Chloe Grace Moretz, Rosario Dawson, Christina Ricci) to icons of  music (Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Fergie, Nicki Minaj, Pink, Carrie Underwood) to stars of  television (Christina Hendricks, Heidi Klum, Allison Williams, Kristin Davis) and darlings of fashion (Victoria Beckham, Leigh Lezark, Alexa Chung), to name just a few.

    His Fashion Empire:
Christian Siriano also designs four seasonal collections of shoes and bags for Payless ShoeSource (an ongoing guest designer collaboration since 2009) as well as a bridal collection for Nordstrom. Other design partnerships have included a makeup line for Victoria’s Secret, and clothing and accessories for HSN, Puma, LG, Starbucks, Spiegel, and Regatta/Li & Fung. He is the youngest person to ever appear on the Crain’s 40 Under 40 list, and he co-founded accessories e-commerce retailer “Send the Trend” and served as Chief Curator until its acquisition by QVC in 2012.

    His Upcoming Projects:
Christian Siriano will be presenting his spring/summer 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week this September.  The first Christian Siriano fragrance will launch in early 2014.

  • Mujjo iPad mini Sleeve

By Tyrone Farley on August 17, 2013

    MujjoFINAL

The Mujjo iPad mini Sleeve is a blend of fashion and functionality for your iPad.  Let’s face the truth, mobile devices are here to stay and making them look good and protecting them is just as important.  This snug tailored sleeve is something you will love to carry and protect your iPad with wherever you go.

If you’re a fashionista that loves to look good wherever you go, like say, upcoming New York Fashion Week, then you’ll want to get your hands on one of these elegant sleeves.  Speaking of getting your hands on these, I”ll be fashionably carrying mine around by inserting the palm of my hand through the front strap that is used with the flap on the front.

    MujjoFinal1

The simple closure with a flap and strap with a left and right rivet on the front, is made from genuine leather and is such a beautiful minimal accent.   The body of the sleeve is made from 100% wool felt that is both sustainable and renewable.  The fabric is soft to the touch which can be easily cleaned and has a special treatment that makes it water repellent. The Dutch craftsmanship of this beauty is sized at 280mm x 203mm x 15mm, and though it’s made to fit the iPad, you can also carry documents, your artistic sketch book or even a runway show program or fashion week invite.

We all know that there are tons of accessories for mobile devices on the market but this sleek hand crafted Mujjo iPad mini Sleeve is everything you’ll love.  By the way, there are other color options too if white is not your first color choice which you can check out at Mujjo.  This white Mujjo iPad sleeve from the Originals Collection will only cost you approximately $59 and you’ll be happy with your choice.
